Celebrating 90 years
Welcome to our exciting, refreshed new look website. We know you will find it easy to navigate and your positive feedback would be appreciated. Our special thanks go to the team at Intuit Creative - a great bunch of innovative designers. A fantastic job and well done. Nothing was a problem.
From humble beginnings in 1921, Theodore Martin Thomas Fredrick Gdanitz Meyer started his company at 42 Greys Ave, Auckland City. The Company endured the “Great Depression” and survived. Then came the honour of being the only supplier of “US Armed Forces” badges outside of the USA.

During World War 2 we were invited by Vice Admiral Halsey, C.I.C. South Pacific Forces to supply the USA navy. Suddenly the meaning of 24/7 became a reality in 1943.

Fast forward to 1971 and our premises were taken over by the Public Works Act for the “Mayoral Drive Development”. This resulted in the relocation to a new factory at 9 Nixon St, Grey Lynn and our current premises. Peter began at Theo Meyer as a boy straight out of school in 1972 training as a hand engraver / badgemaker.

In 1980 Mr Wally Meyer (son of Theo) retires and Theo Meyer (1980) Ltd is formed under the ownership of Peter & Janice Marshall. More recently we have used our trading name "Badgemakers".

Badgemakers engage Intuit Creative to re-image the company resulting in an exciting identity step change and a fantastic new website. Many thanks to the boys at Intuit for a job well done.
